Follow these steps to open and clean the bobbin case on a Brother CS 6000i. This is the only maintenance step required and approved by Brother on the CS6000i.

1. Turn off the Sewing machine and unplug so that you don't accidentally hurt yourself or short circuit the machine.
2. Raise the presser foot by pulling the leaver down. Raise the needle by turning the flywheel.
3. Loosen the presser foot holder screw and the needle clamp screw. Remove the
presser foot and the needle.
4. Grab both sides of the needle plate cover and slides it towards you. See the illustration below.
5. Remove the Bobbin (If inserted) and then remove the bobbin housing. You simply grab the bobbin housing and pull.
6. Clean the surrounding area with the brush included with the sewing machine and/or use a vacuum cleaner. Do not use canned air as it will blow the dust further into the machine.
How to install the Bobbin and the Bobbin Case on Brother CS 6000i
1. Align the marking on the bobbin case and the bobbin case housing and insert the bobbin. And do the same as above but in the opposite order.
