How to thread the Singer Heavy Duty Sewing Machine
Before you start threading the machine it's highly recommended that you switch the machine off and/or Pull out the power supply.
Step 1: Turn the flywheel until the needle reaches its highest point. You must also raise the pressure foot to release the tension discs.
Step 2: On top of the machine, there is a spool pin. Lift it up and place the sewing thread on the pin. The thread should come from the back of the spool (the opposite side of the thread spool pin).
Step 3: Pull the thread through the upper thread guide (3) and through the pre-tension spring (4).
Step 4: Thread the tension module by leading the thread through and down the channel. Thread the machine upwards to the left of the channel it went down. you then lead the thread through the slotted eye(6) downwards again on the left, in the "same " channel.
Step 5: We are now leading the thread towards the needle, behind the horizontal thread guide, and behind the thin needle clamp guide (7).
Step 6: Thread the needle from the front and back of the needle and pull through 15 cm-20 cm 6 inches of thread backward. Some Singer heavy Duty Sewing machines are equipped with a needle threader. read how to use it here. Cut any excess thread with the inbuilt thread cutter.

How to use the Automatic Needle Threader
When you use the automatic needle threader the needle threader must be set at the highest point. It's highly recommended that you turn the sewing machine off when you are using the needle threader.
Step 1. Thread the machine until it reaches the thin needle clamp guide.
Step 2. Set the machine to straight stitching.
Step 3. Press the Automatic needle threader down by pulling the leaver down (A). Gently insert the hook on the threader into the eye of the needle. You do that by swinging the lever towards you when it's fully lowered.
Step 4. lead the thread under the thread guide, from left to right.
Step 5. Pass the thread in front of the needle and under the hook (D), From bottom to the top. and push it up in its resting position.
Step 6. Pull the thread through the needle's eye.
How to wind the Bobbin
Place the bobbin in the spool on the top of the machine, and then add the thread you want to spool in the thread spool holder. Snap the thread into the thread guides, like the illustration shows, Attach the bobbin in the spindle (Illustration 5) and push the spindle to the right. Thread the bobbin like the illustration shows (Illustration 6). Hold the end of the thread securely. Press the sewing foot in and wind it up for a few seconds. Then stop and trim the loose thread. Then press the sewing foot down again and spool the amount of thread you need. The Winding process will automatically stop when the bobbin is full. The snap the spindle to the left and remove the bobbin.

How to Insert the Bobbin
Before you start: Make sure that the Sewing Machine is turned off or it's unplugged before you do the steps below. Turn the flywheel until the needle is in its highest position. Then raise the presser foot to its highest position.
Step 1: Open the bobbin cover. You do that by pressing the small tap to the left.
Step 2: Insert the bobbin in the Bobbin Case. The thread should be running in the clockwise direction. See the arrow in illustration 1.
Step 3: Pull the thread through the slit (Marked as an A in illustration 2)
Step 4: Keep pulling the thread clockwise until it slides into the notch (Marked as B on illustration 2). Keep the bobbin in the bobbin house with your finger.
Step 5: When you have pulled about 15 cm (6 Inches) of thread towards the back of the machine you can close the bobbin cover, Marked as C on illustration 4

How to Insert and Replace the needle
You should always turn off the sewing machine when working with, on, or around the needle.
Make the habit of replacing The needle at least every time you deep clean the sewing machine.
If you are experiencing needle fatigue you should consider replacing it more often. Singer recommends replacing the needle every 16 hours of use. It is recommended that you always use Singer needles or singer-approved needles.

Greasing and other maintenance that requires the opening of the panels should be done by authorized service personnel. That's because applying to much grease can cause errors or put unnecessary stress on the sewing machine.
When cleaning the bobbin housing you should use a brush or a vacuum cleaner. Remove the two screws for the pressure plate and do a deep clean. It's recommended that you oil the machine at the same time.
Canned air or other blowing tools are not recommended to use when cleaning the sewing machine as they will blow the dust further into the machine.

How to Oil Singer Heavy Duty Sewing Machines
When oiling the machine it's recommended that you turn off the sewing machine. To get more room you have to remove the needle and the bobbin. It is also recommended that you remove the pressure foot and the bobbin housing. You should clean the machine while oiling it. Remove the two screws from the pressure plate and put in a few drops of oil. The oil goes in the opening. Put it back together in the opposite order as we opened it.
