The Price:
Every time we talk about the high-end market, the price is a key element. The Baby Lock Victory serger costs 1400 Euros, Almost 1700 USD. That is a high price for a serger! It's almost 3 times more expensive than the Brother 4234D overlocker. A machine that is made side by side with the Baby Lock Victory. There are many features that will justify the price.
Baby Lock Victorys Key features:
(From Baby Locks website)
Jet-Air Threading
With just the touch of a lever, thread is sent through the tubular loopers. There are no thread guides, no struggling and there’s plenty of time to serge away.
Needle Threading System
Hold the needle threader in place for quick and easy threading with just the touch of a lever.
Automatic Thread Delivery:
Set the Victory to the type of stitch you want and get started! The Victory delivers a balanced stitch on any fabric with any type of thread.
Adjustable Presser Foot Height Up to 6mm
Victory features a higher presser foot height to effortlessly handle thicker and loftier fabric.
Tubular Loopers
There’s no exposed thread, no thread guides and you can thread in any order! Tubular loopers eliminate threading mistakes and protect the thread for more serging freedom.
Dial Adjustable Stitch Length & Automatic Rolled Hem
Stitch length can be easily adjusted on a Baby Lock serger using one dial. This dial includes an Automatic Rolled Hem setting that will retract the built-in stitch width finger for a rolled hem finish.
Looper Drive System
This exclusive Looper Drive System prevents loopers from becoming misaligned or out of time, reducing the possibility of major looper damage. This protects your machine from needing repairs, allowing you to serge worry free!
Fabric Support System
The Fabric Support System keeps stitches flat and balanced, no matter what speed, fabric or stitch you choose. The built- in stitch fingers actually move with the knife blade, adjusting the seam concurrently with the cutting width.
Advanced Knife Driving and One-Way Clutch System
Baby Lock has created a knife system with a larger cutting bite that cuts thicker fabric with ease and increased visibility.
Vertical Needle Penetration
While some machines use slanted needles that push and damage fabric, the Victory's needles are set vertically and sew directly up and down, protecting your fabric and preventing needle deflection.

Baby Lock Jet Air Threader:
The Baby Lock Air Jet Threader makes threading the machine much easier for people with Arthritis or other illnesses that makes threading the machine difficult. The Jet Air Threader works on two of the Baby Lock victory 4 threads.
Userfriendly: As we can see from the specs, The Baby Lock Victory Serger is made to make overlocking as easy as possible. We have big elements that will lift the user experience like the jet air threader and automatic thread tension adjuster. But there are also more subtle elements like two LED lights instead of one and a more quiet engine.
How to thread the Baby Lock Victory:
As mentioned, The baby Lock Victory has jet air threaders, but it does only have this function on two of the 4 threads. The other two threads that cant be air threaded are going in the needle, and the way from the spool to the needle is easy to understand and thread. You do have needle threaders on both of these needles, that helps a lot.

Fewer buttons and knobs.
Comparing the looks of a B.L Victory to competitors the Baby Lock Victory looks like it has fewer options. You no longer have 100% control of your sewing machine. Even tho this is partially correct, more choices mean more mistakes and more adjustments while sewing. The Baby Lock Victory completely eliminates that. You have the same options on a Baby Lock machine as you have on any other sergers. and personally, we don't miss the option to select the thread tension on each individual spool, in fact, it almost feels like a blessing.
Overlocker and a coverstitch?
If you are planning on buying an overlocker and a cover stitch you should consider Baby Lock Victorys bigger sister, the Baby Lock Gloria. This is a combined overlocker and a cover stitch machine. The Gloria model has a jet air threader on all spools and you can change from overclocking and cover stitching with a touch of a button. This luxury doesn't come cheap, and in October 2021 the price of a Gloria machine is well over 3000 USD!
