The Brother CS10S sews 850 Stitches pr. minute and has a 40 watts engine. This is good for regular sewing, but a 40 watts engine is not powerful enough to do multiple layers of heavier fabrics. The workspace has increased from 14.6 on the CS10 to 15.8 cms on the CS10S model.
It also has a speed adjuster that allows you to adjust the speed down to 50%. It also has a needle threader and free arm.

There is a lot of accessories included with the Brother CS10s. 7 Presser feet are included, 4 bobbins, a pack of needles, and a bobbin case, also known as the accessories case. The accessories case is a little bit to small, but its still room for all the accessories.

First impression
The Sewing machine is light and easy to set up. The sewing space is generous and the LED light is strong enough. It's easy to get started with this sewing machine. Spooling the bobbin and installing it in the drop-in bobbin house was easy. if you have threaded one Brother sewing machine, you probably understand how to thread this one to. But I do highly recommend that you download the Brother support center app and just start using it right away, there is so much help and guidance that you dont want to miss.
User Friendly:
With access to the Brother support center app and the general design of the sewing machine, it's definitely user-friendly. It's also easy to maintain as it doesn't require any additional oil or grease. It is recommended that you clean the bobbin house (See page 24 in the instruction book) and change the needle once in a while.
Build quality:
The Brother CS10S is built on a lightweight aluminum frame with a solid plastic cover. It weighs only 6,3Kgs (13.9 Pounds) and is 47cms long (18.5"). The thread holder can also be pushed into the machine for easier storage. The sewing machine is well built and easy to store. Brother has reduced the use of plastic by 38% of this model. it is unknown that the previous brother models had issues with noisy plastic casing, so hopefully, this is a step in the right direction.
Who is the Brother CS10s made for?
The Brother CS10s is made for beginners and intermediate users that use the sewing machine once in a while. It's not made for the most advanced sewing projects or projects that require you to sew over multiple layers of heavy fabrics. The Brother CS10s can easily sew garments in light fabrics and It's also great for repair work. The Brother CS10s is definitely an upgrade to the CS10 model.
A great choice for beginners:
The Brother CS10s is great for beginners. The instruction manual is easy to read and the illustrations make it easy to understand. The CS10s Is also included in the brother Support center app and it has video tutorials on the most important features of the Brother CS10S.
Value for money:
In March 2022, the price for a new Brother CS10S is around 200 USD.
This is a very good deal for the sewing machine and the accessories included.
